Hi All,

As promised, we want to inform you of the status of updating the iFly product line for P3D v4 compatibility.

The iFly developers have their 64 bit environment in place and things are going quite well. The first 64 bit build is now in internal beta testing by the Team.  All systems are working as expected and performance is good.  There are a couple of items needing further development and testing:  we are expecting some necessary code from another developer in about a week and the new dynamic lighting system is being further "tweaked".  There will be one more round of internal beta testing by the Team prior to release. Also, the Cockpit Builders Edition (Pro version) will need testing.

Allowing time for the remaining work and testing, we expect release of the iFly 737NG (normal version) update for P3D v4 in about two weeks.  The Pro version may be released a little latter.

Once testing of the iFly 737NG product line for P3D v4 is complete, we will start testing the update for the iFly 747-400.  We'll try our best to keep you informed.

Happy iFlying!

Regards

Hi All,

This is to update you on the status of making the iFly 737NG P3Dv4 compatible.

We are now testing the second (and hopefully final) version of the upgrade, and are very pleased with the progress.  We have incorporated the code from the other developer we discussed in the post above and all related functions are working as expected.  We’ve also finished “tweaking” the dynamic lighting and  reflections, which look great!  All aircraft systems are operating as expected.

FYI, this work is not a “port over” from P3Dv3.  Rather, we’ve worked through the P3Dv4 SDK and compiled the 737NG as 64-bit.  So, no need to be concerned about “porting” discussions you may see in other forums.

The second test software is going to the Team tomorrow.  Baring any major issue (which we do not expect), we will then package the software in a Flight 1 wrapper and shoot for release in a week or so.  We’ll provide installation instructions in the release announcement.

Here are a couple of screenshots showing a 64-bit iFly 737NG in all her glory (Note:  P3Dv4 HDR is ON for these screenshots).

Hi All,

More screenshots from what for me is the final iFly 737NG P3Dv4 beta test fight.  All systems depending on other developer code are working as expected.  AI is real world traffic departing/arriving KIAD and KIAH.  The WXR is also working as expected.

KIAD departure:

Significant WX near AEX (Alexandria, Louisiana, USA) East of the Houston, TX area:

Houston, TX area with typical late afternoon early Summer WX, i.e., thunderstorms:

We look to be on target for release.  Stay tuned for details.

Happy iFlying!

Best,
Jim
