FS2004 users please take note: official
support for FS2004 products has ended.:
http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=fs2004
NOTE: The iFly 737NG is now about 10 years old and
during that period the software has received major updates at no cost to
users. Since the last update, SP3.2.1, the aircraft has received some
fixes/features in SP's 3.2.2, 3.2.3.2 and 3.2.3.4. Users
should expect that any item not currently modeled or not correctly
modeled will stay as is. The software is now at end of
life and soon will be in the legacy product category. We will
continue to provide support via this forum to the current version of the iFly
737NG.
Taking the time to read these instructions prior to your
purchase of the software will produce a smooth transition to the exciting
world of the iFly 737NG simulation. The other side of the coin is also
true: not following the directions will produce no end of trouble.
Before you start downloading the files from the Flight1 servers
please make sure you prepare
your pc as follows:
1. Turn off Antivirus
Software.
2. Turn off Windows
Defender.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-za/windows/turn-windows-defender-on-off#turn-windows-defender-on-off=windows-7
3. Windows 10 users turn off “Real Time
Scanning” in Windows 10 Security.
4. For Vista, Windows 7 and
Window 8 or higher, set UAC (user account control) to the lowest level and
leave it there.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-za/windows/turn-user-account-control-on-off#1TC=windows-7
5. Vista, Win7, Win8, Win10 users must run the Flight 1 Purchase Agent for FSX and
P3D or the FS2004 Installer and then the Config tool created by the
install as Administrator. (right click the executable file or desktop shortcut and select
option "Run as administrator")
6. It is also very
important not to install P3D, FSX, FS2004 or any add-on product in a
"windows protected area"
That will be places like:
\Program Files
\Program Files (x86)
\Windows
\Program Data
If you do install in such a location, your flight simulator must
run “As Administrator”.
7. Read IMPORTANT information about
the product installers to avoid frustration and confusion here:
http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=13204&title=new-installers
8. IMPORTANT: The Flight Simulator
Folder must be excluded from antivirus scans. This will prevent
aggressive scanning from removing required components from the iFly
software installation.
INSTALLATION:
FS2004
The
FS2004 product is installed with the traditional Flight 1 Wrapper. Download
the base version installer from the Flight 1 product page, http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=iflyfs9, right click the Red Airplane on
your desktop and select “Run as Administrator”. After purchasing the software, the
installer will run. Point the
installer to your preferred location for the installation.
FSX/P3D
The FSX and P3D products are installed with the
Flight 1 Purchase Agent: (make sure you right click the executable file or desktop shortcut and select option "Run as administrator")
http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=agent
For FSX and P3D: install FSUIPC. Otherwise the iFly advanced braking system and TCAS
will not work. The FS2004 Installer
includes FSUIPC.
Always download the
latest version from Pete Dowson’s support forum:
http://www.fsuipc.com/
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. We do not officially support any version of Windows 8.
Please note that P3D does not
always work well with Win8 or 8.1. Win8
triggers the compatibility assistant (rundll32.exe process) to run on P3D.exe
in the back ground non-stop, which uses
around 11% of CPU
resources. This will of course affect overall performance of the pc and the running
other applications. Results may differ
from pc to pc.
2. iFly products and Flight1
installers no longer work for those using CD4 in the Rom Drive, or
a Virtual Copy of it in a Virtual Rom Drive, to start FS2004.
Due
to changes to Windows 8 and 10, and also with an updated Windows 7,
which block the use of a CD to authenticate and start a game, it was
necessary for iFly and Flight1 to adapt our security system to function with
Microsoft’s changes.
Customers
using Windows XP SP3, Vista or Windows 7 SP1 without the Microsoft update who
are still able to start FS2004 with CD4, or a virtual copy of it, will not be
able to use the revised iFly Products in Flight1 Installers.
There is
a very easy workaround for this, which may be found by an internet search (how to start FS9.1 with no-cd option / patch). Licensed users may see this thread: http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=14817&title=solved-windows-81-and-fs9
After installation and prior
to loading the iFly 737, register for forum support as outlined here http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=12&title=how-to-get-access-to-the-licensed-member-area then read all the pinned topics
in the forum where support for your version is provided.
Final
Step: Go to the support forum for your
product to download and install the most recent Service Pack. Please be certain to follow the directions
contained in the posts.
IMPORTANT: We support only
the most recent versions of iFly software.
Happy iFlying!
