    Posted: Mar-08-2021 at 12:16am
Hi,

I'm a (quite) happy user of the FSX version. I rolled back to 3.2.1 some time ago due to the inexplicable change in 3.2.3.4 to the display update rate (I was told at the time there were no plans to revert it).

Will the update rate for P3Dv5 be fixed? I get 140 FPS in FSX and there was never any reason that I saw for the restriction of the update rate to 5 or 10 Hz! It makes it extremely annoying to fly.

Even when the aircraft was first released, the update rate of the displays didn't adversely affect the performance of the simulator. Confused

That said - the new VC looks great!

Thanks in advance!

Um is there some P3dv5 version of either the 74 or 73 floating around out there or are you beta testing something we don't know about yet?!?!? Last I heard of anything for those of us waiting on V5 news was the usual (mum) update path TBD.... This and tacpack are the two things I am waiting on before moving to V5...

I see this post is about the 737... Nothing new re: the 747... The block at the bottom of your post made me wonder if you were speaking of the 744...

Hi,

Well I suggest you try the 737NG for P3D v5 and see for yourself if it is okay. Smile
Glad you like what you see about the new VC.

Hi,

iFly has no plans to bring their 747 to P3D v5.

Well that is a major disappointment / let down... Even if it cost a few dollars and was a simple port over many of us would be happy to have it... Sad to hear one of my more expensive addons that didn't just involve the addon itself but the purchase of active sky as well will not be going forward... perhaps you should make some plans... I know I am not the only one who has been looking for and asking about the 747...

Also please don't take what I just said as harsh but keep in mind many of us would be willing to pay a fee for a V5 747 even if it was just a port over and not a new version; and from a business point I assume iFly does want a loyal happy customer base as any business should... At this point I am thinking that I spent ~$70ish buying the 747 license for FSX plus another ~$70ish for the V4 license + ~$40 for active sky... Would I have just been better off buying the 747 from PMDG as they are already in V5 with no additional fees to the customer...? Just saying...

Also I do have to ask when USN06 said:

"No update of the iFly 747-400 series is currently planned (*1).

EDIT:  (*1.)  New info as of 14 APR 2020: Upgrade path TBD. "

was this just a statement of false hope or what...? As this was almost  a year ago...

I thought I was posting in the 737 forum, hence no specific reference! Maybe I did and my post got moved...not sure.

I hope it is corrected; the update rate as it is currently is not only too slow, it isn't even accurate to the display update rate of the real DUs. Cry

And over a half year later, there still is no definitive word on this upgrade....
Unless you take the threat above by Jannier seriously:
"iFly has no plans to bring their 747 to P3D v5."

How about MSFS? Or will the B747 die with P3D4 completely?

I really do not hope so :-(
