Rich,

Even if you had left the .fx files associated with notepad for editing (I do), fs9 would still read and use them normally. You don't have to re-associate anything.

Just associate it with no program, that way you'll always be prompted to select the program to open it with.
And the next time uncheck "make this the default program" then it won't happen again.

What Mark says is true though, the association doesn't really matter.
Hence I have all .cfg files associated with notepad,
that makes for easy editing.

cheers

Tom.

Copy...so the fact that it opens with notepad has no effect on the actual program itself.

Thanks!

The Dome light is white. Panels lights are orange.

Hello everyone,

I adapted the effects file with the tweak by neumanix and the one by herbertzhao, but whereas they both work (excellently) for the lower part of the panel, my MCP is not 'accepting' the tweak; its colour remains brownish. Would appreciate any hints as to why the MCP 'does not cooperate'.

Regards,
René

Not for me. When editing the two files, the VC lights will change, but with the given values from the thread starter the VC light will be way too bright in the FSX version. It's nowhere near the screenshots given.

The values for FSX will probably have to be adjusted as well.

In my FSX/Effects folder, I have two files:
#1: iFly737_fx_vclight_1
#2: iFly737_fx_vclight_2

Which one do I tweak to change the colours in virtual cockpit/2d?

Regards,
        George

I've used this mod for a very long time and recently watching some videos of 737 cockpit I think it's more realistic to change the VC light to look the same as ifly 2D cockpit light. I've tried for many hours and still can't get the right numbers.

Has anyone tried?
